Thanks for the advice! I don’t have any Mandarin-speaking friends to practice with but I’ve been watching a C-Drama on Netflix and that’s been giving me some good listening practice. Learning a language online by yourself is tough because all the resources that provide audio clips of words and phrases sound like robots. It’s nice to watch shows where the people actually sound natural when they speak lol. I have noticed that when native Chinese speakers talk fast and casually (especially younger people) they tend to relax their tones a bit. Like, they don’t put as much emphasis on the tones. Unlike the online language learning tools that are always super serious about pronouncing each and every tone clearly. Have you noticed this as well or is it just me?
